The Designer

2001: Began teaching myself HTML 3.

2005: Taught myself HTML 4, CSS and XHTML.

2005: Certified by Brainbench as an HTML 4 Developer with a grade of 4.17.

2007-2010: Web Designer for Optimize It. Designs.

2008-Present: Design offered through Yellow Pixel Designs.

I hand code in HTML, XHTML and CSS and edit PHP on a very basic level when I need to. I have experience customizing and setting up WordPress, Blogger, Joomla and phpBB based websites. These days WordPress is my preferred Website platform.

I use Photoshop to design website layouts and graphics. Illustrator is my tool of choice for Logo’s and other Print media because of it’s superior vector capabilities.

I continue to develop and expand on my knowledge when and how i can.

The Artist

Art has been a life long hobby and continues to be a daily part of my life. Currently i am developing a keen interest in Manga and Comic style art and am working with pencil and photoshop to develop my style. I’m also a hobby Photographer and have been for almost 10 years. My Art can be found at DeviantART.

Several years ago I became known for my faceless Islamic Dolls which can be seen and downloaded at Muslima Online Artists.

The Writer

I’m the Editor of Muslimas Oasis, a popular Muslim Womens collaborative blog. You can find several articles written by me there as well as the amazing writing of several other Authors.

I’ve had a creative writing piece called “The Observer” published in a book in New Zealand called ‘Bona Fide‘, Poems and a pencil drawing in an anthology in the USA called ‘Many Voices, One Faith‘ and a short childrens story in a Newspaper in Australia.

My story has also been published in a book in the USA called ‘The Face Behind the Veil‘ written by Donna Gehrke-White.
